Timor Furak attended 5th World Summit on Art and Culture
Timor Furak Group Manager attended the 5th
World Summit on Art and Culture held in Melbourne-Australia from 3-6 October,
2011.
With over 80 speakers from around the world
and close to 500 delegates from 75 countries, the 5th World Summit on art and
culture brought together Government and cultural leader to explore how artist
can give voice to diverse communities and concerns through collaborations with
experts in many sectors. The 5th World Summit, co-hosted
by the Australia Council for the Arts and the International Federation of Arts
Councils and Culture Agencies (IFACCA), was held at the Melbourne Exhibition
and Convention Centre.
To date, five world summit have been held
• Ottawa, Canada 2000
• Singapore, 2003
• Newcastle Gateshead, England 2006
• Johannesburg, South Africa 2009
• Singapore, 2003

III AP- CPLP 20-23 Sep 2011 in Timor-Leste
Timor Furak group performing at the III Parliamentary Assemblies of the Nations belonging to the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (III AP-CPLP) event held in Timor-Leste from 20-23 Sep 2011. The event was a very important event because it showed to the World Timor-Leste ability to host such a international conference that brings eight (8) member state of CPLP with location spread over 4 continents- Europe, America, Africa and Asia.

Timor Furak Group performed "HimeKami & Ku'u Kafe Dance" at the special reception organized by the Dili Chinese High School GEEN FO Student Association of Australia in honor of celebrating the 36 GEEN FO Anniversary commemoration on Monday 25 April 2011 took place at La Mirage receptionand convention centre, Somerton Victoria, Melbourne.
FIFA President Mr. Blatter official Visit to Timor-Leste
During FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter tour of Asia in April 2011. His first destination was Timor-Leste, whose national football association was affiliated to FIFA in 2005.
Apart from meeting High Level officials from Government of Timor-Leste and gave speech to Timorese parliament, Mr. Blatter also inagurated FFTL Training center called "Xanana Sport Center"
During the inaguration ceremony Timor Furak presented a Timorese traditional dance "Kakoak"
Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao, Secretary of State for Youth and Sport Miguel Manetelo, UN representative Ameerah Hag, Ex-Prime Minister Mari Alkatiri and FFTL president Sico Calbuadi was among the guests.

Timor Furak participated in Timor Leste Culture & Food Festival, Melbourne Australia
Organized by the Timorese Associationin Victoria (TAV), Australia, Timor-Leste Culture and Food festival held on Feb 2010 at Queen Victoria Market which attracted over 10 thousand visitors. The Secretary of State for Culture, Virgilo Simith and Timor-Leste Ambassador to Australia, Abel Guterres, Timorese Students and communities in Victoria, Australia are among the guest.
Performing two dances namely "Hime Kami" and Ku'u Kafe, Timor Furak participationi has contributed to the tremendous success of the Festival in showcasing the richness and uniqueness of Timorese culture.
