“Ku Kafe” Dance
Timor-Leste is a tiny player in the international coffee market but it has a special status as producer of organic, mild Arabica coffee.
“Ku Kafe” means “coffee harvest.” This dance is performed before the coffee crop is harvested. And expresses the anticipation of farmers who are looking forward to a rich harvest, which will put money in their pockets and food on the table for their families.
